For all their failings, Metro made me smile

Actually, they’ve done really well this week.  Trains running when buses couldn’t, they were on time, quite warm: all good.  They even gloated about it a bit, saying on their ticker tape “Adverse weather conditions not affecting the Metro”.  They could’ve cocked a snook and been done with it!

But, alas, pride comes before a fall.  Today we saw ridiculous failings all over the place resulting in:

  • 30 minute waits for Metros that were too full to board
  • boarding Metros that were too full to board only to find that this broke the doors and meant that we had to get off
  • Metro rage – overprotective mothers lashing out at those trying to board the full Metros

All in all, not nice.

And now we have reduced service to help us get home.

All in an atfernoon’s work, Metro.
